Souvenirs from Bora Bora, Polynesia & the Marquesas

Teavanui Shop, boutique 100% produits locaux de Bora Bora et de Polynésie

PRODUCTS FROM BORA BORA AND POLYNESIA

Teavanui Shop was born from the idea of showcasing the talents of Bora Bora and the islands of Polynesia. Living on islands in the middle of the Pacific comes with many constraints: the cost of raw materials, scattered know-how, limited volumes, and long delivery times.

Despite these constraints, countless creative initiatives are born on our islands. They are usually the fruit of passions born by chance — first for friends, then first sales, production outside of working hours, and sometimes radical life changes.

Teavanui Shop wants to give a place to these creators and offer their products, the fruit of these chances and passions. That's how coffee sits alongside handmade bags, artisanal soaps, monoï, Marquesan chocolate, and many other creations in our shop.

"The one thing they all have in common: it comes from the heart, and it's made in Fenua!"
(Laure De La Bourdonnaye, manager)

MARQUESAN ART

Marquesan Art: Ancestral Craftsmanship at the Heart of Our Boutique

We are proud to showcase the talent of artisans from the Marquesas Islands, guardians of a craftsmanship passed down through generations. Every piece is entirely handcrafted with patience, precision, and passion, using locally sourced woods such as Lychee, Ficus, Tou (Pacific walnut), Miro (rosewood), and many others.

Far more than decorative objects, these creations tell a story. Sharks, manta rays, whales, tiki figures, ceremonial masks, fish hooks… each sculpture is carefully engraved with traditional Marquesan symbols, each carrying a deep cultural meaning rooted in Polynesian heritage. Protection, strength, courage, family, voyages, and prosperity are just some of the messages these symbols convey. Every piece is infused with its own mana—the spiritual energy that connects people, nature, and their ancestors.

The artisans live in the remote Marquesas Islands, hundreds of kilometers from Bora Bora, making it impossible for them to present their work here every day. Our boutique is proud to serve as a showcase for their exceptional craftsmanship, helping preserve and share one of French Polynesia's richest artistic traditions with visitors from around the world. By choosing a Marquesan creation, you are taking home a unique, handcrafted work of art that carries a story, a heritage, and a true piece of Polynesian culture.
